As we approach the International Day of the Girl Child on October 11th, The Sokrit Charity Foundation is excited to continue our commitment to supporting young girls in Nigeria through the second edition of our “Pad the Girl” initiative.
Last year, we launched this initiative to provide sanitary supplies and hygiene education to girls in underserved communities, and the impact was profound. This year, we are dedicated to reaching even more girls, ensuring they have the resources they need to manage their periods with dignity.
Why It Matters
Menstrual hygiene is a basic human right, yet for many girls in Nigeria, access to sanitary supplies is a luxury. Lack of proper menstrual products not only impacts their health and well-being but also affects their education, as many young girls miss school due to the inability to manage their periods safely and comfortably.
Here, we believe that no girl should be held back by something as natural as menstruation. Through “Pad the Girl,” we aim to break the silence, end the stigma, and ensure that girls have the support they need to thrive.
What We Do
This year, we will once again distribute sanitary pads to young girls, while also educating them on personal hygiene and menstrual health. Each carton of sanitary pads costs ₦12,500 and contains 24 packs of pads. Every donation helps us equip more girls with the essentials they need.
How You Can Support
As with any charity organization, we rely solely on the generosity of the public. Your contributions can provide a life-changing impact on a young girl’s life.
