PAD A GIRL OUTREACH AT GOVERNMENT DAY SECONDARY SCHOOL KAKURI, KADUNA.

As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility to mark the International Day for the Girl Child, the Sokrit Charity Foundation visited Government Day Secondary School Kakuri for an outreach to educate and share Pads for the girl child.

It was indeed a great sight to see hundreds of female students gather to be taught lessons on hygiene, menstrual circle, sex education etc. SCF formed a team of Nurses, Forensic Scientist and Counselors to carry out this project and it was indeed a success.

Our team of Nurses did a remarkable job by teaching the girls personal hygiene and how to use a pad.

Mr Seun Leonard a Forensic expert did an applaudable job with the students. The students asked so many questions and they got the desired responses.

Although we didn't get to reach out to all the female students in the school, we were able to gift about 120 of them the PADS and they were ecstatic about it.

The School Counselor Mrs Jaja thanked SCF for the visit and gifts and also asked the students to appreciate the entire team.

We had several group and individual photograph afterwards.

We also went to thank the school principal for accepting our invitation. The school principal shared some concern the school have.

She stated that she is disturbed that a lot if her students are unable to pay WAEC fees due to the economic challenges of their parents.

Most of them hardly come to school for lack of transportation. Some of them have their uniforms all worn out, and she pleaded with the team to help her wipe away the tears of some of these students by providing the above mentioned needs.

We responded by thanking her for having the students at heart and we assured her that we will get back to her on her request. From our findings, the WAEC fee is around 25,000.
